Why Patients Choose Us with VSP
Do you accept VSP?
Yes—we work with VSP regularly and will walk you through your coverage step-by-step.
Will I know my cost before my visit?
Yes. We verify your benefits ahead of time so you know what to expect for you examination copays. Copays on luxury eyewear and lenses depend on frame cost and lens options selected.
Can I use VSP for glasses or contacts?
Most plans includes allowances for glasses and contact lenses - we’ll help you use them wisely.
What if I have a strong prescription or special condition?
Most Eyemed plans have a benefit called Medically Necessary Contact Lenses that will cover contact lenses if you have irregular corneas (Keratoconus), or have a strong eyeglass prescription (typically >10.00D).
Does VSP cover eye related medical issues - what’s the difference?
No. Vision insurance is separate from medical insurance. EyeMed vision benefits are generally used for routine vision care, while medical insurance will apply to medical eye conditions that are related to Diabetes, Cataracts, Dry Eye, Glaucoma, and Macular Degeneration. Our team will help you navigate those situations as needed.
